
Rice Sustainability Institute recently introduced the inaugural cohort of the Chevron Energy Graduate Fellowship, funded by Chevron and supporting 10 graduate students with $10,000 each for their energy-related research. At a reception hosted by the Rice Sustainability Institute, Rice President Reginald DesRoches and Chris Powers, vice president of carbon capture, utilization, and storage & emerging, Chevron New Energies emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing sustainable energy solutions. The fellowship recipients are tackling pressing energy challenges, including lithium-ion battery recycling, green hydrogen production, and carbon capture technologies, representing Rice’s commitment to driving innovation in the energy transition.
